EXTERIOR
DRAIN TILE SYSTEM The most effective method for keeping your basement dry is to PREVENT water
from coming in at all by installing an EXTERIOR drain tile system. (Refer to the link below, "Moisture in Basements:
Causes and Solutions" under INTERIOR DRAIN TILE SYSTEM.) We will remove and replace any landscaping, sidewalk, fencing,
etc., as needed, to excavate down to the footings of your foundation. In addition to installing drain tile, we will apply
Platon dimpled drainage sheeting
. This product will completely waterproof your foundation, top to bottom. In addition to the product warranty, we offer
a 30-YEAR TRANSFERABLE WARRANTY when we install your exterior drain tile system.

INTERIOR
DRAIN TILE SYSTEM An interior drain tile system, when properly installed and maintained, can also keep
your basement dry. We will remove approximately 12"-14" of basement floor around the entire perimeter, or in specific
areas where water leakage is a problem. We typically drill holes in the bottom course of block to allow for drainage, install
drainage fabric with washed rock and perforated drain tile, and a sump pump with basket. To also PREVENT MOISTURE
and condensation from collecting on basement walls, we can install a Poly vapor barrier* down the walls and across the
top of the footing. We then install a vent mat floor edging, and re-pour the basement floor. *When we install an interior
drain tile system, complete with the Poly vapor barrier, our repairs are covered by a LIFETIME TRANSFERRABLE warranty.
The University of Minnesota Extension Service has an excellent publication entitled "Moisture
in Basements: Causes and Solutions". It offers descriptions and illustrations of the most common sources of basement
water problems, as well as steps to repair them. IF YOU PLAN TO FINISH YOUR BASEMENT, one very important
(and often overlooked) step is to place a VAPOR BARRIER/RETARDER over the interior walls. This will prevent the future
intrusion of water onto your sheet rock and framing materials.
